  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the high-frequency signals away from the power plane and use a via stitching technique to reduce EMI.
  • Use a Type III compensation network with a series R-C-R network and a shunt capacitor to ensure stability. The output filter should be designed to provide a minimum of 30 dB attenuation at the switching frequency.
  • Although the datasheet specifies a maximum input voltage of 5.5V, it's recommended to limit the input voltage to 5V to ensure reliable operation and prevent damage to the internal components.
  • Use a thermal pad or a heat sink with a thermal interface material to dissipate heat. Ensure good airflow around the device and avoid blocking the thermal pad. The maximum junction temperature should not exceed 150°C.
  • Use a low-ESR ceramic capacitor with a value of 10uF to 22uF. The input capacitor should be placed close to the VIN pin and have a low inductance path to the power source.
