NEO-M8T-0 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • The recommended power-up sequence is to first apply power to the module, then wait for at least 100 ms before sending any commands or data. This allows the module to complete its internal self-test and initialization.
  • To use an external antenna with the NEO-M8T, connect the antenna to the module's ANT pad, and set the ANT_EXTCFG bit in the CFG-ANTENA register (0x13 0x00) to 1. This enables the external antenna and disables the internal antenna.
  • The maximum update rate of the NEO-M8T is 10 Hz (10 times per second) in continuous mode, and 25 Hz (25 times per second) in kinematic mode.
  • To enable SBAS on the NEO-M8T, set the CFG-SBAS register (0x13 0x03) to 1. This enables the module to use SBAS corrections to improve positioning accuracy.
  • The typical current consumption of the NEO-M8T is around 50-60 mA during continuous operation, and around 20-30 mA during standby mode.
