SM74611KTTR Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias is recommended. Ensure a low-impedance path for the output capacitors and keep the input capacitors close to the IC.
  • Use a pi-filter configuration with a common-mode choke and a differential-mode inductor. Ensure the output capacitors are placed close to the IC and the output inductor is placed close to the load.
  • A low-ESR ceramic capacitor (e.g., X5R or X7R) with a value between 10uF to 22uF is recommended. The capacitor should be placed close to the IC and have a low inductance path to the input pin.
  • Ensure the output capacitor has a low ESR and is placed close to the IC. Also, add a small ceramic capacitor (e.g., 10nF) between the output and ground to improve stability.
  • The maximum input voltage is 18V, but it's recommended to keep the input voltage below 15V to ensure reliable operation and minimize power dissipation.
