  • Toshiba recommends a PCB layout with a minimum of 1.5 mm clearance around the device, and a thermal via under the device to improve heat dissipation. A detailed layout guide can be found in the Toshiba application note 'PCB Layout for Photorelay' (TAEC-C001).
  • The TLP3083F requires a specific drive circuit to ensure proper operation. A recommended drive circuit is shown in the datasheet, which includes a series resistor and a pull-up resistor. The input voltage should be between 3.15 V and 5.5 V, and the input current should be limited to 5 mA.
  • The maximum allowable voltage across the output terminals (VOUT) is 250 V peak AC or 350 V DC. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
  • During power-on, the output is initially in the OFF state. When the input voltage reaches the threshold voltage (Vth), the output turns ON. During power-off, the output turns OFF when the input voltage falls below the release voltage (Vr).
