TLV3494AIPWR Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Texas Instruments recommends a compact layout with the device placed close to the input bypass capacitor, and the output stage should be placed close to the load. A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane is recommended. Additionally, the input and output traces should be kept short and away from noise sources.
  • The input bypass capacitor should be a low-ESR ceramic capacitor with a value between 1uF to 10uF. The capacitor should be placed as close as possible to the VIN pin, and the capacitor's voltage rating should be at least 1.5 times the maximum input voltage.
  • The TLV3494AIPWR can deliver up to 50mA of output current. However, the output current should be derated based on the ambient temperature and the input voltage. Refer to the datasheet for the output current derating curve.
