TI recommends a 2-layer PCB with a solid ground plane on the bottom layer and a thermal relief pattern on the top layer to minimize thermal resistance. A minimum of 2 oz copper thickness is recommended for the top layer.
To ensure stable output voltage regulation, it's essential to decouple the input voltage with a capacitor (e.g., 10uF) and use a low-ESR output capacitor (e.g., 22uF). Additionally, ensure the input voltage is within the recommended range (4.5V to 18V) and the output voltage is set correctly using the FB pin.
